FAQs
What is the time commitment, and how are the sessions structured?
Most students begin with weekly 60- or 90-minute sessions; these are customized around the student’s course load and academic goals. Each meeting follows a structured but flexible framework: recap, focused instruction, then guided practice. Progress is reviewed with the parents or guardians after each session, and scheduling is adaptable to weekdays and weekends.
What sort of results should we expect – and how soon?
Students frequently report a noticeable difference in comprehension and motivation after their first session. That progress can compound over time, often yielding very concrete outcomes many months or even years later. Collectively, students tutored by Dr. McClure have received well over $150,000 in merit-based and ACT-based scholarship funds.
How does EM Tutoring differ from other private tutoring services?
EM Tutoring offers a level of expertise and individualization that most tutoring services simply cannot match. Rather than follow a preset curriculum, Dr. McClure builds around the student’s personality and particular goals. The result is a unique process that strengthens both skill and self-belief.
How does EM Tutoring tailor instruction for students with learning differences, such as ADHD or dyslexia?
No two students can be taught in the exact same way. Drawing from behavioral and neuropsychological principles, EM Tutoring identifies how a student’s processing differences influence performance –– then adapts pacing and mentorship accordingly. Please contact EM Tutoring to learn more about how Dr. McClure uses his STEM education to particularize sessions for students with cognitive challenges.
